Hola Barcelona! How lucky are we!

Hola a tots!
Ja fa molts dies que he deixat el blog penjat i no tinc excusa! He estat treballant i viatjant a casa tant com he pogut i m'he distret molt! :) El mes passat em vaig escapar un parell de vegades així que aprofito per compartir amb vosaltres unes fotos de la ruta turística que vaig fer per la meva estimada Barcelona durant la primavera.
Quan conec nous companys i clients i em pregunten d'on sóc i dic "de Barcelona", tothom fa una exclamació d'admiració. La nostra ciutat té una popularitat extesa a tot arreu i és una de les destinacions preferides per molts. Permeteu-me dir-vos que després de voltar per tot el món em sento molt orgullosa de la nostra cultura, història i tradició. I contra més veig, més exploro i respecto les nostres arrels i més valoro el què hem aixecat amb els anys i esforc de molts.
L'arquitectura i art del Modernisme, la platja, el clima, el menjar, els paisatges, la muntanya, les flors, etc. Les petites coses que donem sovint per suposat, tan simples i especials a la vegada.
A Dubai no les hi tenen. I si n'hi ha, són artificials i requereixen d'un tracte meticulós per mantenir-les. No dic que Dubai no sigui un bon lloc per viure, però jo he decidit no quedar-m'hi. Ja és la meva última setmana aquí i aviat faré una actualització amb els pros i contres.

Hace ya muchos días que he dejado el blog colgado y no tengo excusa! He estado trabajando y viajando a casa tanto como he podido y me he distraído mucho! :) El mes pasado me escapé un par de veces así que aprovecho para compartir con vosotros unas fotos de la ruta turística que hice por mi querida Barcelona durante la primavera.
Cuando conozco nuevos compañeros y clientes y me preguntan de dónde soy y les digo "de Barcelona", todo el mundo hace una exclamación de admiración. Nuestra ciudad tiene una popularidad extendida por todas partes y es una de los destinos preferidos por muchos. Permitidme deciros que después de dar vueltas por el mundo me siento muy orgullosa de nuestra cultura, historia y tradición. Y contra más veo, más exploro y respeto nuestras raíces y más valoro lo que hemos levantado con los años y esfuerzo de muchos.
La arquitectura y arte del Modernismo, la playa, el clima, la comida, los paisajes, la montaña, las flores, etc. Las pequeñas cosas que damos a menudo por sentado, tan simples y especiales a la vez.
En Dubai no las tienen. Y si las hay son artificiales y requieren de un trato meticuloso para mantenerlas. No digo que Dubai no sea un buen sitio para vivir, pero yo he decidido no quedarme. Ya es mi última semana aquí y pronto haré una actualización de los pros y contras.

Hi there,
It's been a few days since I didn't update the blog and I have no excuse! I have been working and traveling back home as much as I could and so I have been very distracted! :) Last month I visited home a couple of times and so today I share with you a few pictures of the day I went on a touristic route around my beloved Barcelona during spring time.
When I meet new colleagues and customers and they ask me where I am from and I say "from Barcelona", everyone cries in admiration. Our city has a high popularity extended everywhere and it is one of the most favorite destinations. Let me tell you that after travelling around the World I feel very proud about our culture, history and tradition. The more I see, the more I explore and respect our roots and the more I value what we've raised with time and effort.
The architecture and art from Modernism, the beach, the weather, the food, the scenery, the mountain, the flowers, etc. Those little things we often take for granted, so simple and special at the same time. In Dubai there are none of them. And if there are they are artificially placed there and they require a very thorough maintenance. I am not saying Dubai is not a good place to live, but I decided not to stay. This is my last week here and soon I will give you an update with pros and cons.
For now I hope you enjoyed the views of BCN.

Hong Kong II

Hi there!

A few days back I was in Hong Kong, city that I visited for the second time. A few months ago, right at the start of the blog, I shared with you my visit to the Buddha Temple, as you can see here.
This time I only took the underground to help a colleague of mine (that is also from my city coincidentally) to go and check on wedding dresses as she will be soon getting married in the Seychelles! No success, as getting married in the beach does not match with the kind of desing that they have in most of the shops there.
Anyway, in Prince Edwart area that is what you can find. A big shopping mall dedicated only to wedding stuff. It is quite nice!
I also had some local food in that area and the next morning I went for some groceries to a shopping mall in Causeway Bay, city centre, and fetched some oriental food to try! Let's see how it goes when I get in the kitchen with all of that!
Next stop: Shanghai!

Hace unos días estuve en Hong Kong, ciudad que visité por segunda vez. Hace unos meses, justo al principio de empezar este blog, compartí con vosotros mi visita al templo Buddha, como podéis ver aquí.
Esta vez sólo cogí el metro para ayudar a una compañera (de la misma ciudad que yo, ¡pura coincidencia!) a elegir su vestido de novia ya que se va a casar próximamente en las Seychelles. Pero no hubo éxito, pues como se casa en la playa no había nada que se ajustara del todo al tipo de ocasión con los diseños que había en las tiendas de por allí.
De todos modos, en el área de Prince Edwart, eso es lo que se puede uno encontrar; un gran centro comercial dedicado exclusivamente a materiales y tiendas para bodas. Es bastante bonito.
También aproveché para comer por ahí algo de comida local y la mañana siguiente fui a hacer la compra a un centro comercial de Causeway Bay, en el centro de la ciudad, y ¡me apoderé de varios productos orientales para probar! ¡A ver como sale cuando me ponga con la cocina con todo eso!
