Hi Shanghai!

Hi there!

I have been extremely tired lately... I am so looking forward to my holidays of relax and beautiful views...

Last week I visited a couple of destinations in China. You already saw Hong Kong and the second one is Shanghai. I went downtown to The Bund (Wai Tan) and saw the skyscrapers and then the markets a bit further up.

I also did some shopping in the underground markets and enjoyed the bargaining once more. Haha.
I was very much jet lagged because I had to wake up really early for the flight so I had no power for much more actually...such a pitty!

Últimamente he estado especialmente cansada...Tengo tantas ganas de vacaciones de relax y vistas bonitas...
La semana pasada visité un par de ciudades en China. Ya visteis Hong Kong y la segunda fue Shanghai. Fui al centro de la ciudad a The Bund (Wai Tan) y vi los rascacielos y luego a los mercadillos que quedan un poco más arriba en el mapa.
También fui a hacer unas cuantas compras a los mercadillos subterráneos y disfruté de nuevo regateando un poquillo. Jajaja. Tenía un jet lag impresionante porqué me levanté muy pronto para el vuelo el día anterior y no me quedaban fuerzas...¡una pena!

Hong Kong II

Hi there!

A few days back I was in Hong Kong, city that I visited for the second time. A few months ago, right at the start of the blog, I shared with you my visit to the Buddha Temple, as you can see here.
This time I only took the underground to help a colleague of mine (that is also from my city coincidentally) to go and check on wedding dresses as she will be soon getting married in the Seychelles! No success, as getting married in the beach does not match with the kind of desing that they have in most of the shops there.
Anyway, in Prince Edwart area that is what you can find. A big shopping mall dedicated only to wedding stuff. It is quite nice!
I also had some local food in that area and the next morning I went for some groceries to a shopping mall in Causeway Bay, city centre, and fetched some oriental food to try! Let's see how it goes when I get in the kitchen with all of that!
Next stop: Shanghai!

Hace unos días estuve en Hong Kong, ciudad que visité por segunda vez. Hace unos meses, justo al principio de empezar este blog, compartí con vosotros mi visita al templo Buddha, como podéis ver aquí.
Esta vez sólo cogí el metro para ayudar a una compañera (de la misma ciudad que yo, ¡pura coincidencia!) a elegir su vestido de novia ya que se va a casar próximamente en las Seychelles. Pero no hubo éxito, pues como se casa en la playa no había nada que se ajustara del todo al tipo de ocasión con los diseños que había en las tiendas de por allí.
De todos modos, en el área de Prince Edwart, eso es lo que se puede uno encontrar; un gran centro comercial dedicado exclusivamente a materiales y tiendas para bodas. Es bastante bonito.
También aproveché para comer por ahí algo de comida local y la mañana siguiente fui a hacer la compra a un centro comercial de Causeway Bay, en el centro de la ciudad, y ¡me apoderé de varios productos orientales para probar! ¡A ver como sale cuando me ponga con la cocina con todo eso!

Hong Kong visit express

 

This is a late post about my visit express to Hong Kong. Last month I spent a day in the city so I decided to go up a mountain to see Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. It is actually one of the biggest ones that I have seen the closest. It was quite cloudy that day and so I couldn't take amazing pictures of the view from the cable car but it's just fine.

I moved by metro around the city and it was much easier than I expected. Sometimes as tourists we become lazier and just rely on taxis or buses. Underground is a very good and cheap option and, in this case, you can actually go anywhere by yourself without trouble.

Furthermore, currently with protests going on right in the middle of the city, it was said it was not going to be very safe to go to the city centre but it was totally ok to do so. At least in the afternoon on a week day. It is full of shops and restaurants obviously offering asian food and a list of variety from what I tried only dry noodles with beef and some sauteed vegetables.

Hope there is another ocasion to visit and show you more of it.

Visita express a Hong Kong

 

Este es un post tardío de mi visita express a Hong Kong. El mes pasado pasé un día en la ciudad así que decidí subir a la montaña para ver Tian Tan Buddha y el monasterio de Po Lin. Se trata de uno de los budas más grandes que haya visto de tan cerca. Hizo un día bastante nublado y no pude hacer fotos estupendas de las vistas desde el teleférico, pero no están mal.

Por allí me moví con el metro y fue mucho más fàcil de lo que esperaba. A veces cuando vamos como turistas nos volvemos más perezosos y nos fiamos de los taxis y buses. El metro es una muy buena opción y más econòmica que las otras y, en este caso, podías llegar a cualquier lado por ti mismo sin problema.

Además, en estos momentos, con las protestas en marcha en el medio de la ciudad, se decía que no sería seguro andar por ahí pero sí que lo era. Al menos entre semana y por la tarde. El centro está lleno de tiendas y restaurantes que ofrecen lógicamente comida asiàtica con mucha variedad, de la que elegí noodles (fideos gruesos) con ternera y verduras salteadas.
