New York, New York

Hi there!
Once more New York! What do I have with this city? Luck, I am just lucky to have been there five times already.
This week I went for breakfast at Ellen's Stardust. A famous musical dining place where the staff sings while the take your orders like if you were right in the middle of a show. They traint their voices on a daily basis and it is a way for them to show their vocal abilities so that some talent Hunter checks on them and maybe give them an opportunity for Broadway shows.
After that I had a walk in snowy central park and then back to Times Square all the way through 5th Ave. I stopped at FAO toy shop where I felt like a kid again! I enjoyed so much all the magic tricks and new kind of games that they have there plus different gadgets and dolls...trully art pieces. It is really nice to go and have a look and maybe fall in love with some teddies as well!
Last but not least, I did some shopping, of course!
Next stop, Hong Kong!

Una vez más Nueva York! ¿Qué tengo yo con esta ciudad? Suerte, simplemente tengo la suerte de haber podido ir ya cinco veces.
Esta semana fui a desayunar a Ellen's Stardust. Un famoso restaurante musical en el que el personal canta mientras toma nota como si uno estuviera en medio de un show. Ellos ensayan a diario y es una forma para que los cazatalentos de Broadway les den una oportunidad.
Después de eso fui a dar un paseo por un Central Park nevado y luego ,de vuelta a Times Square por la 5a avenida, paré en la tienda de juguetes FAO, ¡donde me sentí como una niña de nuevo! Disfruté tanto de los trucos de magia y de los nuevos tipos de juguetes que tienen ahí...así como otros objetos y muñecas...verdaderamente piezas de arte. Es muy bonito para ir y echar un vistazo ¡E igual enamorarse de algún animalillo de peluche también!
Y por último pero no por ello menos importante, ¡hice algo de shopping, por supuesto!

Becoming familiar, New York

Hi there!
Once more, I have recently been to New York. The city is becoming every time more familiar to me. To the point that I dared to walk for a couple of miles under the snow in its streets this time.
By pure coincidence, I ended up going on a full-on audiotour of the Grand Central Terminal. Did you know that over 700K people goes through it every day? It is like the whole population of San Francisco! I can assure you, it's a non-stop flow of people.
I was pretty impressed by all the information and the place itself. It has a magnificent structure and there are so many businesses in it... Specially in the Dine Court.
The part I was most amused by was the Oyster Bar or Whispers' Gallery. The shape of the walls allows people in each ending of the archs to hear each other from different sides! So cool!
To sum up, if you ever have the change to spend just over an hour to discover this famous station when in New York, go for it! And if you have plenty of time, enjoy some food just one level down.

Una vez más, he estado recientemente en Nueva York. La ciudad me resulta cada vez más familiar. Hasta el punto que me atreví a andar durante varios kilómetros por sus calles bajo la nieve con bastante facilidad. Esta vez, de pura casualidad, terminé disfrutando de un audio tour completo de la Grand Central Terminal.
¿Sabíais que cada día pasan por allí más de setecientas mil personas? ¡Es como toda la población de San Francisco! Os puedo assegurar que es un no parar de gente para arriba y para abajo.
Me quedé bastante impresionada con toda la información que recibí y por el sitio en sí. Tiene una estructura magnífica y hay tantos negocios...Especialmente en la parte de restaurantes.
La zona que más me gustó fue el Oyster Bar (bar de ostras) o Galería de los susurros. La forma de sus paredes hace que desde cada esquina uno pueda escuchar al otro (situado en la esquina opuesta) al hablar a volúmen normal. ¡Muy chulo!
En resumen, si alguna vez tenéis ocasión de pasar una horita por ahí, os recomiendo descubrir ésta famosa estación, donde tantas películas se han rodado. Si tenéis algo más de tiempo, bajad un piso para disfrutar de las delícias que allí se sirven.

San Francisco II

Hi there!
Last weekend I was in San Francisco for the second time. Today I would like to share with you a few pictures of both my first time visit and this last ones as a compilation of memories as I visited different things on each ocasion.
During June last year I went to Alcatraz and checked out Pier 39 (where the sea seals are) and Lombard Street (the famous curvy street). This month, however, I took a bike and ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, had some lunch in Sausalito and ice cream and then headed back to the city where all its streets left me breathless, as in, literally! There, I went through Golden Gate Park and straight to Alamo Street where you can find the Painted Ladies (as shown in the Intro of Full House) and finally back to the city centre for some drinks and dinner.
San Francisco has a very much European style I would say and probably that's why I like it so much! I was very lucky to enjoy such a sunny day, no clouds or fog around and a very nice temperature.
I am now having a few days off at home so it's amazing! But next stop, New York! :)

El pasado fin de semana estuve en San Francisco por segunda vez. Hoy me gustaría compartir con vosotros las fotos de las dos veces que estuve allí, la primera y esta última, como recopilación de las dos visitas y de lo que vi en distintas ocasiones.
Durante Junio del año pasado fui a visitar Alcatraz y estuve por Pier 39 (donde están las focas marinas) y en Lombard Street (la famosa calle de curvas). Este mes en cambio, alquilé una bici y pedaleé por sus calles hasta quedarme sin aliento, literalmente! Por allí vi el Golden Gate Park y la calle Alama dónde se encuentran las Painted Ladies, las casas que salían al principio de Padres Forzosos y luego ya vuelta al centro de la ciudad para tomar algo y cenar. 
San Francisco tiene un estilo muy europeo y supongo que ¡por eso me gusta tanto! Tuve mucha suerte con el tiempo, tan soleado, sin nubes ni niebla en todo el día y con tan agradable temperatura. Ahora mismo estoy disfrutando de unos días libres en casa así que estoy genial, pero pronto toca la siguiente parada, Nueva York! :)

Seattle 48h

Hi there!
Last weekend I was in Seattle for two days, and left the city before the Superbowl started. The ambience there was totally festive and I could never imagine they would decorate every corner of the city with Seahawks flags and the number 12 everywhere.
Anyhow, it was my first time to visit the State of Washington and I was pretty excited from the moment I knew I was going there. My hotel was right in the city centre and so a few streets down the road by foot I could find Pike Place Market. The very famous Public Market near the Waterfront. From there I got some lunch with a pretty nice view of the foggy edge where the Great Wheel stands. I also walked down to the Gum Wall and the First Ever Starbucks Store. I grabbed some mandatory coffee for the occasion and I headed back to have some well deserved rest.
Then, next morning, I went to Chihuly Garden and Glass (with two of my collegues), which is basically a museum with indoor and outdoor pieces from this artist that has such impressive stuff as the ones I share with you today.
It's art. Right under the Space Needle. The main tourist attraction in Seattle. The highest point that offers 360º view overlooking the skyline and the ocean.
After taking a few pictures and registering our names in the digital guestbook, we left back to Pike Place Market to check out all the different shops: cartoons, nutrition, magic, vintage, frames, flowers, fresh fruit, bakeries, nuts, fish...there is so much you can find..!
I was very happy with the overall of those 48 hours, which we don't usually get to have...

El pasado fin de semana estuve en Seatlle durante dos días, y me fui justo antes de que se disputara la Superbowl. El ambiente allí era absolutamente festivo y nunca imaginé que se decorara cada rincón de la ciudad con banderas de los Seahawks y que el número 12 estuviera por todos lados.
De cualquier modo, era mi primera vez en visitar el estado de Washington y estaba muy emocionada des de el principio de saber que iría. Mi hotel estaba justo en el centro así que bajando unas cuantas calles a pie ya me encontraba en Pike Place Market. El mercado público más famoso justo a primera línea de la costa. Allí me senté a comer con unas vistas bastante chulas de la noria o Great Wheel entre la niebla. También bajé hasta la calle del chicle o Gum Wall y luego fui a la primera tienda de Starbucks, dónde compré un café como requería la ocasión y ya me dirigí de vuelta a disfrutar de un merecido descanso.
Luego, la mañana siguiente, fui a Chihuly Garden and Glass (con dos de mis compañeras), que es básicamente un museo con piezas de interior y al aire libre de este artista que tiene coses tan impresionantes como las que comparto con vosotros hoy.
Es arte. Justo debajo de la torre Space Needle. El principal atractivo turístico en Seattle. El punto más alto que ofrece vistas de 360º hacia el horizonte y el océano.
Después de hacer unas cuantas fotos y registrar nuestros nombres en el libro de visitas digital, nos fuimos de nuevo a Pike Place Market para ver todas las tiendas: de dibujos animados, de nutrición, de magia, vintage, de cuadros, de flores, de fruta fresca, panaderías, de frutos secos, pescadería. ¡Se pueden encontrar tantas cosas..!
Quedé muy contenta con el total de esas 48 horas, que generalmente no tenemos...

Did you know? On Pike Place Market floor, each tile has the name of every donor who gave $35 years ago when they refubrished the pavement. Once it was done, the sellers had trouble with them because they wanted to find their names on the tiles, even under the built stands.

¿Sabías que...En el suelo de Pike Place Market cada baldosa tiene el nombre de cada uno de los donantes que aportaron 35 dolares para la reparación del pavimento. Una vez terminado, los comerciantes tuvieron problemas porqué éstos querían ver la baldosa dónde estaba su nombre, incluso debajo de las paradas.
